REDMI CHALLENGES PREMIUM LAPTOP BRANDS

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will announce the new Redmibook 14 laptops on Ryzen CPUs on October 21st. Redmi has recently introduced Redmi books using Intel processors. The design will be similar to previous Redmibooks with Intel CPUs.

The new laptops will be powered by AMD Ryzen CPUs, and specs and pricing have been announced.
Pre-orders will start on October 21 and the starting price will be around 2999yuan ($ 424).

AMD Ryzen 5 3500U + 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – 2,999 Yuan (~ $ 424)

AMD Ryzen 5 3500U + 8GB RAM + 512GB storage – 3,299 Yuan (~ $ 466)

AMD Ryzen 7 3700U + 8GB RAM + 512GB storage – 3,799 Yuan (~ $ 537)

AMD Ryzen 7 3700U + 16GB RAM + 512GB storage – TBA

The Ryzen 5 3500U for the Redmibook 14 was released in 2019 Q1 and has slightly higher clock speeds and slightly better performance than the Intel Core i5 8250U. And it’s cheaper than the core i5 8250U.
Below you can see a comparison chart of 3500U and 8250U.

Like the Redmibook 14, it has a 14-inch display with an 81.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. For audio, Dolby DTS audio support will also be included.

Another unique feature is the cross band file transfer feature. Features announced earlier this year allow you to transfer files between Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo phones and laptops without file size limit. It will work like Apple’s Airdrop.

Xiaomi is challenging other high-end premium laptops brands with the same specs as the new Redmibooks. In fact, the upcoming Ryzen redmibooks are sure to get back the performance they paid for.
At the moment, a laptop with a Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and an SSD costs around $ 100,000, while Redmibooks will start at around $ 650,000, and in the laptop world, Redmibooks will be PtoP laptops.
